Our Greenbuild 2022 Experience

Conferences are officially in full swing again. It was great to be with our partners from Andersen Windows and Doors at this year’s Greenbuild event in San Francisco.

The week started off with our VP of Strategy, Veeral Hardev, speaking on a panel for Building-Integrated Photovoltaics (BIPV): Beyond the Shingle workshop that was organized by the US Department of Energy. He highlighted how UE Power™ does not compromise the project’s aesthetics, which is essential to the developer and architect when deciding what window and façade products to use for homes and buildings. The session was standing room only and filled with architects and designers in the audience.

Next, we joined Andersen in their booth to highlight our partnership and shared drive for sustainability. We brought one of demo UE Power™ transparent solar window units to the show so that people could see how truly transparent and aesthetically pleasing the product is.

Some of the most exciting conversations were around how our technology generates energy even without direct light hitting its surface. UE Power turns passive windows into active renewable energy generators; even if the generation is less when not in direct sun, it still generates energy. This is an added benefit in addition to maintaining similar aesthetics and thermal insulation performance of today’s passive energy efficient windows.

After the first full expo day, we co-hosted a happy hour with Andersen, which generated a lot of buzz. Thankfully the bartender moved quickly, and we had a full staff of Andersen and Ubiquitous Energy representatives to help field questions and show off the products.

Overall it felt good to be back in the swing of conferences, to shake hands, answer questions in real-time, and get to know how people think about the future of sustainable building. We look forward to being out and about more in 2023, so stay tuned via our social media channels to find out where we might be next.
